{"id":1442,"date":"2024-08-21T12:29:51","date_gmt":"2024-08-21T10:29:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ldtcs.gov.za\/?post_type=news&#038;p=1442"},"modified":"2024-08-27T12:30:02","modified_gmt":"2024-08-27T10:30:02","slug":"mec-mathye-spends-her-womens-day-with-learners-of-the-botlokwa-special-school","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.ldtcs.gov.za\/?news=mec-mathye-spends-her-womens-day-with-learners-of-the-botlokwa-special-school","title":{"rendered":"MEC MATHYE SPENDS HER WOMEN&#8217;S DAY WITH LEARNERS OF THE BOTLOKWA SPECIAL SCHOOL."},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"dslc-theme-content\"><div id=\"dslc-theme-content-inner\"><p>Media Statement<br \/>\nWed, 21 August 2024<\/p>\n<p>MEC MATHYE SPENDS HER WOMEN&#8217;S DAY WITH LEARNERS OF THE BOTLOKWA SPECIAL SCHOOL. <\/p>\n<p>Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Ms. Violet Mathye, has spent her day with learners of the Botlokwa Special School, in the Molemole Local Municipality, within the Capricorn District Municipality.<\/p>\n<p>This is part of the Department and the SAPS\u2019s women\u2019s month activities, where \u2018women in uniform\u2019 had identified the Botlokwa Special School, and mobilised resources to assist the learners.<\/p>\n<p>She was joined by the Mayor of Molemole Local Municipality, Clr Edward Paya, Executive Mayor of the Capricorn District Municipality and the Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS Limpopo, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe.<\/p>\n<p>The donations were in the form of cooking pots, heaters, stoves, toiletries, mattresses,<br \/>\nblankets and other amenities, which were in response to the learners socio-economic conditions.<\/p>\n<p>This is act of kindness was made possible by female peace officers, who made various types of donations.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the event, MEC Mathye indicated that \u2018progress is being done, between her Department, Social Development, Health and the SAPS, to formulate task teams to assist victims of GBV to get justice\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>During the official opening of the Provincial Legislature, the Premier, Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, directed \u2018all these departments to formulate strategies to ensure that GBV victims receive the utmost form of assistance and are thoroughly prepared, as they appear before courts of law\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In her address, the Provincial Commissioner &#8211; Lt-Gen Thembi Hadebe has, pleaded for a closer co-operation between the communities and the Police to fight crime.<\/p>\n<p>She has indicated that this cooperation will also help to bring to a stop acts of vandalism of public property and gender-based violence.<\/p>\n<p>End.<br \/>\nDepartment of Transport<br \/>\nSouth African Police Service<br \/>\nRoad Traffic Management Corporation<br \/>\nOffice of the Premier: Limpopo Provincial Government Limpopo Department of Education ArriveAlive.co.za<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Media Statement Wed, 21 August 2024 MEC MATHYE SPENDS HER WOMEN&#8217;S DAY WITH LEARNERS OF THE BOTLOKWA SPECIAL SCHOOL.
