The campaign unites law\u2011enforcement, community groups, transport stakeholders and advocacy organisations to reduce road fatalities.<\/p>\n<p>MEC Mathye warned that the festive period sees spikes in traffic, alcohol misuse, speeding and fatigue. She announced intensified enforcement: 24\u2011hour roadblocks, random breath tests, vehicle inspections, visible traffic police, and joint SAPS\u2011community operations. \u201cWe want every road user to arrive alive. Life comes first,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Department Matjena stressed collaboration and personal responsibility: \u201cRoad safety is a shared responsibility; enforcement alone isn\u2019t enough \u2013 we need behavioural change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>SAPS Commissioner Hadebe pledged integrated crime\u2011prevention and road\u2011safety actions, emphasizing visibility, compliance and swift action against offenders.<\/p>\n<p>The launch featured motorist engagements, awareness drives, educational material, and demonstrations on seatbelts, safe overtaking, fatigue management and sober driving. Residents were urged to report reckless driving, overloaded taxis, unroadworthy vehicles and drunk drivers via provincial hotlines.<\/p>\n<p>\ud835\uddde\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude06
