DTCS EMPOWERS COMMUNITY SAFETY STRUCTURES

#CommunitySafety| Department of Transport and Community Safety (DTCS) recently hosted a successful Community Police Forum (CPF)/CSF Capacity Building Workshop at the Bela Bela Resort yesterday, 18 February 2025. The workshop aimed to empower community safety structures with knowledge on rules, procedures, and rights relevant to their daily duties.

Presentations were made by various stakeholders, including the DTCS, Correctional Services, South African Police Service, Civilian Secretariat for Police Service, and the Department of Justice. Topics covered included processes of arrest, parole, road safety, expungement, and report writing procedures.

The workshop also facilitated the registration of community safety structures for the 2025/2026 financial year. Members of the community safety structures were optimistic and appreciative of the Department’s initiative. By empowering community safety structures, the DTCS aims to create safer and more secure communities for all!
