THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNITY SAFETY CONTINUES WITH ACTIVITIES HONORING MANDELA

The Department of Transport and Community Safety, led by MEC Violet Mathye, successfully commemorated Nelson Mandela Day in Bela Bela town on Wednesday, 23 July 2025.

The celebration, which included a 67-minute service initiative, brought together key stakeholders from local and district municipalities, DTCS top management, SAPS, Correctional Services, SANTACO, and other stakeholders within the transport sector.

Activities included donating groceries and sleeping mattresses to the needy, planting vegetables, and renovating the Mathebula residence, as well as community engagement at the Bosele Drop In Centre.

Through these acts of service, the department honored Madiba’s legacy and made a positive impact in the Bela Bela community. and the whole province.
