Day two of the DTCS three-day strategic planning session at Euphoria Golf and Lifestyle Estate in the Waterberg District concluded on a high note, with renewed energy and a stronger sense of purpose.
The day focused on report-backs from the previous day’s breakaway commissions and an intentional team-building exercise. Leading from within, the Head of Department, Mr Steven Matjena, was fully part of the exercise, rolling up his sleeves and working side-by-side with the team.
The highlight of the day was a chocolate factory simulation. Decked in protective kitchen clothing, colleagues were grouped into teams and tasked to create real chocolates from scratch using the ingredients provided. The exercise blended creativity, communication and collaboration into something tangible – and delicious. It was a practical reminder that great results, like great chocolate, require precise roles, clear communication and working together as one.
Addressing the team, HoD Matjena said: “Take to heart that every role matters in achieving our ultimate goal. I truly appreciate your positive spirit and active participation in this exercise. Carry these lessons with you and translate them into your daily work, to strengthen communication, deepen collaboration and elevate service delivery.”
Indeed, the excitement and jubilant spirit in the room proved that when a team learns to move as one, service delivery finds its rhythm and projects find their wings.
