Deputy Minister of Police Dr Polly Boshielo,MEC for Transport and Community Safety Susani Violet Mathye, Vhembe Executive Mayor Cllr Frieda Nkondo, Thulamela Mayor Cllr Rammbuda, Thovhele Mphaphuli and Provincial Commisioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe led a peaceful march in Thohoyandou. The purpose was to create awareness amongst Community members with incidents of Gender Based Violence.

All speakers condemned rising incidents of gender based violence around Thohoyandou. The event culminated with the signing of the pledge by various stakeholders where all vowed to fight such incidents
