Mme Violet Mathye, MEC for Transport and Community Safety, accompanied by HOD Matjena, led the GAAL team before the SCOPA public hearing. They presented the entity’s operational progress for the previous financial years, addressing matters arising and demonstrating commitment to transparency and accountability.
The SCOPA committee commended GAAL’s unqualified audit outcome, acknowledging the progress made. However, they also emphasized opportunities for improvement, encouraging the entity to strive for a clean audit. The Interim Board Chairperson Mr Ndavhe Ramakuela emphasized that to become an entity of choice, GAAL must leverage its strengths and address areas for growth, thereby unlocking its full potential and achieving greater heights.
