Premier Dr. Phophi Ramathuba delivered a powerful State of the Province Address, highlighting Limpopo’s progress and challenges. Despite the province’s increased contribution to the national GDP, from 7.2% to 7.7%, the unemployment rate remains a pressing concern at 31.9% .

To address this, Premier Ramathuba emphasised the need for innovative thinking and industrialization, particularly in manufacturing, agriculture, and construction. These sectors have the potential to drive inclusive growth, job creation, and economic revitalization.

One notable success story shared by the Premier is that of SAMPADA Private Equity, a young black entrepreneur who transitioned from building malls to sustainable farming, producing strawberries for export. This venture has created jobs and demonstrated the importance of determination and resilience.

In the realm of tourism, Premier Ramathuba highlighted the opportunities presented by hosting the G20, which will showcase Limpopo’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and warm hospitality to the world.

The Premier also announced Limpopo’s ambitious goal to become the first province to achieve universal access to energy, in partnership with the Ministry of Electricity. This will be achieved through a strategic blend of grid-connected and innovative microgrid solutions, ensuring reliable and sustainable power for all households. #SOPA2025 #LimSOPA2025 #7thAdministration #LeaveNoOneBehind #LetsGrowLimpopoTogether
